Outreach Opportunities

Free Meal Program: FUMC prepares and serves 100-125 free meals at Covenant UMC in Plainfield on the 2nd Monday of each month. Volunteers are needed in shifts to set up, serve and clean up. if you can help, please contact, Isabelle Myles at 755-5741 (after 4 p.m.). Next Date: will begin again in September.

The Westfield Neighborhood Council: NEEDED: Art and craft and school supplies (no toys at this time). Please leave donations in box in the Narthex. Thank you. TUTORS are also needed on weekdays during the school year from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Contact Ezella Johnson (233-2772)

Community Food Bank in Hillside: Fouth Saturday of every month. We car pool from the church at 8:30 a.m. and work until noon. Individuals and families (minimum age 10) are welcome. Contact Teresa Dresely (232-5732) Next Date: will begin again in September

Habitat for Humanity: Older youth and adults are welcome to volunteer at one of the sites in Plainfield any Friday or Saturday. Contact Larry Brendler (232-8172) for details. Next FUMC Day: July 29, 2000.

The Samaritan Fund: Did you know that FUMC has a special endowment fund created to support the ongoing mission and outreach work of the church? Gifts may be made to FUMC and marked "Samaritan Fund."
