Organist/Accompanist Position Available

First United Methodist Church of Westfield (1 East Broad Street Westfield, NJ  07090) seeks an organist/accompanist with proficiencies in pipe organ and piano performance.  Responsibilities include playing prelude/postlude, hymns (as selected by the pastor and worship team), and choir anthems (as selected by the choral director) at our 10:00 am Sunday worship service and accompanying the choir at weekly choir rehearsals (Thursdays, 7:30-9:00pm).  Organist/accompanist will not be responsible for leading choir rehearsals or directing the choir as our choir director will assume those responsibilities.  FUMC has a 54 rank organ installed by the Aeolian-Skinner Organ Company of Boston, Massachusetts in 1959 as well as a 12 rank antiphonal organ installed by the Müller Organ Company of Hagerstown, Maryland in 1975. Compensation commensurate with experience.  Anticipated start date: September 2011.
