Commitment LUNCHEON TODAY after worship. Today is Commitment Sunday, when we each declare our support the ministries of this congregation and for the United Methodist church as a whole. In celebration of our ability to help in this way, join your church family for lunch after worship.

TRUNK OR TREAT - TODAY enjoy some Halloween fun following the Stewardship Commitment Luncheon.Starting at 1pm, church volunteers will be ready with open trunks for costumed trick-or-treaters from our church, Wesley Hall and the community.Please note that the start time has been shifted to allow folks to attend the luncheon and still have time to set up their stations.

Humane Society needs our help. Due to the severe weather conditions in the Northeast over the past couple of years animalfell short of the worn bedding and towels donated to these shelters for warmth and comfort. Please, if you come across any old or not as nice anymore items, think of the animals that are cold and place them in bin will located in the lobbydonations through October.

Wesley Hall fundraiser. Wesley Hall is participating in Lord & Taylors "Shop Smart-Do Good Charity" event on October 29, 2014. Purchase a ticket for $5 (in the school office) get TWO special 25% off bonus coupons to be used on one regular or sale priced item and ONE 15% off savings pass on regular and sale priced items (includes cosmetics and fragrances). A new women’s covenant group will meet on Sundays from 11:15 – 12:15 p.m. in room 105. The focus of discussion will be on Brene Brown's book Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent and Lead.Our first meeting will be November 2 when we will discuss chapters 1 & 2. Midday Organ Recital Series. Join us on select Wednesdays at 12:00 NOON in the Sanctuary for a half-hour of eclectic music for the organ and/or chamber musicians. Proceeds from the free-will offering will go to restore our Aeolian-Skinner organ back to it’s full potential. Our next concert is November 5th! (Mark your calendars for all of our upcoming dates: November 19; December 3, 17.) This series was designed to be a musical lunch break for church goers and non-church goers alike, so please bring lunch and a friend!

The Crafty Ladies will hold a boutique on November 16 from 12-4 PM in the Fellowship Room. Many items were made by the craft group which met during the summer months. A baked goods table will be offered with lots of goodies for the holidays. For more information contact Charlotte Broadwell.

Education Opportunity for Adults/Older Youth

Psalms Bible Study (begins November 2nd)

A four week study of Psalms will run from Nov 2nd through Nov 23rd. The study will begin with an exploration of the nature of a Psalm and of the various types of Psalms and then explore specific Psalms as a way to understand the nature of God and what it means to be human. Kevin Dresely will lead this group which will meet in Rm 105.

Human Rights, the Church, and Us (begins November 2nd)

Deborah Enix-Ross will lead a discussion forum focusing on human rights. Discussion topics will include: what are human rights – from a legal, Biblical, and the United Nations’ perspective, what is the business community’s involvement, and how can we, as individuals and as institutions, make a difference. This interactive discussion group will meet from Nov 2nd through Nov 23rd in the Fellowship Room.
