Monthly Men’s Breakfast— All men are invited to gather at the Westfield Diner on Saturday, May 9th for a time of fellowship. Contact Kevin Dresely at ddresely@comcast.net for more information. No reservations required!

The Coffee with Conscience Concert Series presents Songwriters’ Night in Westfield hosted by Scott E. Moore on Saturday May 9, 2015 at 8 PM (doors open at 7:15 PM) in the Social Hall. Admission is $20 in advance online (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/songwriters-night-in-westfield-may-9th-tickets-16564446706) or $25 at the door.

Our next time to host Free Meals will be May 11, 2015. We prepare meals the 2nd Monday of each month September thru June. Although we have a faithful crew, we welcome anyone who would like to come and join us! If you are interested, talk to Dick or Margaret Campbell.

Midday Recital Series this Spring. Our next concerts are Wednesday, May 6, 13 and 27 at 12 noon. This series is designed to be a musical lunch break for church goers and non-church goers alike, so please bring lunch and a friend! Proceeds from the free-will offering will go to the organ restoration fund.

The Noontimers will meet on Friday, May 15, 2015 in the Fellowship Room. Our guest presenter will be Bob Soong. Bob will retell religious pilgrimages recently with his wife Janet.They will reflect on Christianity in China since 1980s, when North American Christians and FUMC members visited churches in Soong's motherland.We ask that you bring a sandwich; we provide coffee and tea and ice water. The meetings run from 12 PM till 2 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Soup Ministry. Our Soup Ministry meets once a month on a Saturday morning to make soup to put in the freezer - it will then be taken to church members who are shut-ins or having a rough time. Our group will next meet on Saturday morning, May 16, to make soup. Please join us from 9 AM – 11 AM in the Social Hall kitchen. Questions? Contact Barbara Richey at bbrichey1@mac.com.

The Madrigal Singers will perform their Spring, 2015 program, Come Again Sweet Love, at FUMC on Sunday May 17th at 4:00 p.m. The program will features music madrigals and sacred music from 7 centuries, including works by Victoria, Tallis, Dowland, Byrd, Mozart, Bortnyansky and music director John Sichel. The concert will also include readings by Judy Sullivan. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens.

Blood Drive. Come and donate blood on Monday, May 18th from 2—9:00 p.m. at the NJ Blood Center, 2279 South Avenue in Scotch Plains. Sign-up in the narthex for blood donations or call Randy or Cindy Howell to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome on the 18th.

FUMC scholarships are due TODAY (May 3). Scholarships will be presented during worship on Sunday, June 14th.

Family Caregivers Group. A support group for persons who provide ongoing care for an ill, elderly or disabled family member continues to meet at FUMC about twice each month from 3:00 to 4:30 on Sunday afternoons. Upcoming dates are May 10 and 24. Mutual support, encouragement, and caring as well as practical information areoffered to and by those present.group is professionally led. Vacation Bible School is coming this July 20-24, 2015 and you won’t want to miss the adventure as we explore Everest – Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power.We are currently in the process of signing up volunteers and holding registration for the church and the community. Women’s Covenant Group

The Women's Covenant Group continues their discussion of Hind's Feet in High Places thru May, meeting after Sunday worship from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. The book is the allegorical tale of Much-Afraid, who seeks God's guidance in her struggle to let go of her fear as she is led by the Good Shepherd to the high places. God Talk & Our Responsebeginning May 17

All of us are theologians because we all think and talk about God.On Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 9:50 AM, current issues in religion and ethics will be aired.These discussions will be on Sundays from May 17th through June 14th. Join other theologians in the Fellowship Room for some coffee and to listen or join in the discussion.Discussion conveners will select topics from radio broadcasts, TV, news media, blogs, or other sources.
