Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry.  Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Join us for lunch Today!  All are welcome to lunch and a “tour” hosted by Imagine on TODAY after worship in the Social Hall.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about how Imagine’s program operates and how it has touched the community.  A light lunch will be provided.  

FUMC Perennial Plants available beginning TODAY.  Beautify your yard with perennial plants that have been thinned from the flower beds at FUMC. To keep perennial flowers coming year after year, plants must be dug and divided. than throwing away the excess plant material, volunteers have potted them for you to have in your garden.  Since the pots and plants are of different sizes, the donation amount will be up to you. The perennials will be available outside the main lobby beginning TODAY.

Midday Recital Series this Spring.  Our next concerts are Wednesday, May  27 , June 10 & 24 at 12 noon. This series is designed to be a musical lunch break for church goers and non-church goers alike, so please bring lunch and a friend!  Proceeds from the free-will offering will go to the organ restoration fund.

The Madrigal Singers will perform their Spring, 2015 program, Come Again Sweet Love, at FUMC TODAY at 4:00 p.m.  The program will features music madrigals and sacred music from 7 centuries, including works by Victoria, Tallis, Dowland, Byrd, Mozart, Bortnyansky and music director John Sichel.  The concert will also include readings by Judy Sullivan.  Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens.

Books and Beyond.  You are invited to the next gathering of “Books and Beyond” TONIGHT from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Lynn Petrino’s home. The/movie under discussion will be “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova; movie directors Glatzer & Westmoreland, starring Julianne Moore (received an Oscar for this role) and Alec Baldwin. Blood Drive.  Come and donate blood on Monday, May 18th  from 2—9:00 p.m. at the NJ Blood Center, 2279 South Avenue in Scotch Plains. Sign-up in the narthex for blood donations or call Randy or Cindy Howell to schedule an appointment.  Walk-ins are also welcome on the 18th.

Family Caregivers Group.  A support group for persons who provide ongoing care for an ill, elderly or disabled family member continues to meet at FUMC about twice each month from 3:00 to 4:30 on Sunday afternoons. Upcoming dates are May 17, June 14 & 28.  Mutual support, encouragement, and caring as well as practical information are offered to and by those present.  The group is professionally led. Vacation Bible School is coming this July 20-24, 2015 and you won’t want to miss the adventure as we explore Everest – Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power.We are currently in the process of signing up volunteers and holding registration for the church and the community.  Contact Marcee Rogers mmrogers93@gmail.com for more information.

God Talk & Our Response—
All of us are theologians because we all think and talk about God.On Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 9:50 AM, current issues in religion and ethics will be aired.These discussions will be on Sundays through June 14th.Join other theologians in the Fellowship Room for some coffee and to listen or join in the discussion.Discussion conveners will select topics from radio broadcasts, TV, news media, blogs, or other sources.Questions?
