Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry. Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Altar Flowers. The 2016 Flower Chart is posted on the wall outside the church office. You are invited to sponsor flower arrangements ($40 per week) for our worship services each Sunday morning. Please sign up, then take an envelope for your payment and to indicate what reading you’d like to appear in the bulletin. Thank you for providing these beautiful tributes for our services. You may take the flowers home, or leave them to be delivered to our homebound members. Upcoming dates open for flowers: January 17, 31 and February 14, 21.

Wesley Hall Registration. Wesley Hall open registration for the 2016-17 school year takes place on January 11. Classes are available for children ages 2 1/2 thru full day Kindergarten. Members of First United Methodist Church are eligible to register at any time and receive 10% off of tuition. Call the school office 908-233-9570 to schedule an appointment for a tour of the school. Our next time to host Free Meals will be January 11, 2016. We prepare meals the 2nd Monday of each month September thru June. Although we have a faithful crew, we welcome anyone who would like to come and join us! If you are interested, talk to Dick or Margaret Campbell.

The Noontimers will meet on January 15th in the Fellowship Room. Our program is in the planning stages. We ask that you bring a sandwich and we provide coffee and tea and ice water. The meetings run from 12 PM till 2 PM. Everyone is welcome!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Service will take place on January 18, 2016 at 1 PM at FUMC Westfield. You are invited to meet at 12:15 PM at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monument; the March to the Church begins at 12:30 PM.

Come See Silly Willy the Magician on January 29, 2016! FUMC members are invited to attend Wesley Hall School for Early Childhood's presentation of Silly Willy the Magician on January 29 at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary (snow date, February 5). Appropriate for families with young children.To learn more about Silly Willy, visit www.sillywillymagic.com. Tickets are $5 per person. Registration forms are available in the FUMC office.

Adult Faith Development

William Sloane Coffin: Pastoral Prophet and Prophetic Pastor. Beginning on January 17th, and running through February 7th, Rev. Mertz will offer a class on William Sloane Coffin beginning at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Room. This past May Rev. Mertz finished his Doctor of Ministry degree at Luther seminary in St. Paul, and wrote his thesis on William Sloane Coffin. During this four-week Adult Sunday school class he will share some of what he learned about this rather extraordinary man.
