Then Sings My Soul Moment. As a means of deepening our connection to God and one another during the church season of Ordinary Time, there will be a "Then Sings My Soul" moment on the second and fourth Sundays of each month until the beginning of Advent. People are invited to consider sharing how a specific hymn or piece of music has been meaningful, comforting or challenging in their spiritual growth.If you are interested in sharing in one of these moments contact Su Iliff (siliff31@gmail.com) or Connie Palmer (cqpalmer@yahoo.com).

Krafty Ladies/Social Group, Wednesdays through August. Please join us in the Fellowship Room on Wednesdays through August from 1-3 PM. Bring your knitting, sewing and crafts or just join us for social time! We also have some fun projects that you can work on. Hope to see you whenever you can make it!

Garden Restoration for Stephanie Miller Memorial at First United Methodist Church. Volunteers are sought to help restore an overlooked and overgrown area at FUMC. On Saturday August 15, from 8:00 AM to noon, help is needed to remove vines, saplings, and weeds. We will also install appropriate new plants. Bring gloves. If you have tools, also bring: spade (solid or forked), pickaxe, lopper, hand pruner. (Tools will be provided as well if you have none.) Rain date is August 22nd. For details speak to Dan Bottorff.

Support the United Methodist Home’s WALK FOR ALL AGES. This year’s walk is on September 13, 2015. The walk is on the streets of Ocean Grove and begins at Francis Asbury Manor. If you are interested in walking as a member of FUMC’s team, please speak to Joyce Nelson. If you would like to sponsor one of FUMC’s walkers – Joyce Nelson, Mary-Lou Jackson, or Su Iliff - stop by the table in the narthex before or after worship. The money raised will go for seniors residing at Francis Asbury Manor.

Annual Report deadline. Committee/Ministry leaders are asked to submit their committee’s annual report to the church office by Wednesday, September 9th.

Westfield Food Pantry. Please continue to contribute non-perishable food, personal grooming and baby items. They can be left in the drop-off box in entryway of the church on Sunday mornings or any other convenient time. The Food Bank also accepts checks made out to: Food Bank of Westfield. You can send your check to the church or drop in the offering plate on Sunday.
