Calling all writers! A writing group is in the planning stages and is looking for members. All genres and levels of ability are welcome. If you are interested, please contact Mark Sutton ( Meeting day and time will be set based on everyone’s schedules.

Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry. Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Get your Thanksgiving pies! The United Methodist Women will again be selling pies for Thanksgiving. Orders will be taken through Sunday, November 17th.The pies will be baked on Saturday, November 23rd and be available on Sunday, November 24th.The cost is $15.00.We have pecan, pumpkin, Kentucky Derby, apple crisp and crustless cranberry.

Come with us to see "Moses" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Lunch and transportation will be part of the package event. Our next time to host Free Meals will be Monday, November 11, 2013. If you are interested, talk to Dick or Margaret Campbell.

The Noontimers will meet on Friday, November 15, from 12 –2 PM in the Fellowship Room. Our presenter will be Ann Freeman Price with the program "Wisdom of 80 Years and What I Learned by Writing it Down." Bring a sandwich and we provide coffee and tea and ice water. The meetings run from 12 PM till 2 PM. Everyone is welcome!

The Oratorio Singers present an evening of Irish Traditional & Celtic-American folk and classical music on Friday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. in our sanctuary. General admission $20, $15 seniors and $10 students (16 and under) For information and tickets call 908-656-7418.

The Book Group will next meet on December 1 from 7-8:30 PM in the Fellowship Room. The book for discussion is "The Things They Carried" by Tim O’Brien. Dan Bottorff will be the discussion facilitator. All are invited to join us.

Ladies Game Night—Saturday, November 23rd at 7 PM in the Fellowship Room. Join us for fun, food and fellowship and play your favorite board games. Feel free to wear your favorite PJs or your favorite comfy clothes.

We need your help! FUMC is hosting a Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 7 from 1-4 pm in the Fellowship Room. We encourage you to attend as this is a great outreach to the community but it's also a time to relax and fellowship with one another. Entertainment will also be provided for the kids. We will be in need of bakers to bring holiday goodies and treats to share. Adult Education Opportunities

An adult education class entitled "What’s So Amazing About Grace?" meets on Sundays in Room 208 at 9AM. The class is exploring the evidence of God’s grace in our lives and in the world.Please join us for as many weeks as you are able.Each class topic is self-contained. A special devotional study during Advent will begin on the first Sunday of Advent, December 1st during the 9:00 AM church school hour. Sunday gatherings will feature selections from Let Every Heart Prepare: Meditations for Advent and Christmas which are paired with a hymn. The Sunday gatherings can be supplemented by daily devotional readings. More information will be forthcoming as we approach Advent.

GrooveBarbers Holiday Show to benefit Greater NJ Sandy Relief Fund

Join us on Sunday afternoon, December 15th at 3 PM for a special family-friendly, Holiday Music Extravaganza featuring the zany a cappella group, the Groove Barbers, led by the king of a capella, Sean Altman himself! The concert will take place in our Sanctuary and proceeds will benefit the GNJ Sandy Relief Fund. Online admission prices are $16 for adults, $11 for teens (ages 13-19) and children age 12 and under are free. Go to for more information or to purchase your tickets.
