Altar Flowers. The 2014 Flower Chart is posted on the wall outside the church office. You are invited to sponsor flower arrangements ($40 per week) for our worship services each Sunday morning. Please sign up, then take an envelope for your payment and to indicate what reading you’d like to appear in the bulletin. Thank you for providing these beautiful tributes for our services.

Help support our Lenten youth mission project! – The Jr. and Sr. High youth will be selling tile mosaic crosses during lent for $10- each. The proceeds will benefit the Westfield Food Pantry and the Plainfield Free Meals program. They will be approximately 3 X 6 inches standing on a small base. They will be available for sale Sundays after church during Lent. Please contact Peter Pantalena for further questions or details at: ppantal@aol.com

Oratorio Singers Concert, TODAY at 3 PM. Join the Oratorio Singers as they present a concert of sacred choral music TODAY at 3:00 PM in our sanctuary. This concert, which includes soloists, chorus and orchestra, will feature Mozart’s "Great" mass in c minor and the World Premiere of Saint Augustine written by music director, Trent Johnson. Tickets: $20 general admission, $15 students and seniors.

Time of Prayer. Please join us for a time of prayer the first Sunday of each month from 9:15-9-45 in the Wesley Hall office (room 101). every month or come whenever you can - all are welcome! Our next meeting will be April 6.

Processional Candle Bearers Training. On Sunday, April 6th following worship at 11:15-12:15 there will a training for youth (grades 5 and up) to learn the Processional Candle Bearer job led by Jack Panosh.Meet outside the Music Library (2nd floor). This training is open to any of our youth who would like to support worship by taking on this job for various holiday worship services throughout the year.The task involves carrying one of two processional candles at the beginning and end of worship to accompany the processional cross.Please note, however, it is important to make sure that you have been trained and can handle the weight of the candle.

Sign Up Today! – 20th Anniversary All-Church Treasure Hunt. On, May 10 at 7pm, we will be having a Treasure Hunt. This year we will include both family teams and adult teams so all are invited to participate. This is an opportunity to explore all of the nooks and crannies in the church while getting to know your fellow church members. We will have a chili dinner to conclude the event.up in the Fellowship Room or outside of the Church office and let us know if you want to be part of a Family Team or an all-Adult team as well as your choice to bring either an appetizer or dessert to share.

Adult Education Update –FORGIVENESS.

The Lenten study, Forgiveness: A Lenten Study by Marjorie Thompson, will continue on Sunday mornings ending April 13th.Everyone is invited to participate at either of two gathering times: 9:00 – 9:50 AM or 11:30 – 12:30 in Room 105.Any suggestions for future class topics can be shared with Bob Anderson, Dan Bottorff, Joann Huber, or Su Iliff.

Join in outside Preparations for Easter

Spring is springing up at FUMC.Our Memorial Garden currently is blooming with yellow Witch Hazel and maroon Lenten Roses.The front steps display yellow Viola’s and orange Angelina sedums.Daffodils leaves are up and promising blooms.
On Saturday, April 5th, from 8 AM till Noon, members and friends are invited to join the gardening fun.Experienced in the garden or not, you are welcome!With gardening there is much to learn, and many experienced gardeners to share information.
Tasks include a) raking and removing debris;b) edging; c) mulching;d) thinning perennial plantings;and e) potting the extra plants.Jobs will be assigned to match your interests and abilities.Bring the tools you prefer to use.Extra tools are supplied.
