Family Caregiver Group: A small group of persons with caregiving responsibilities continues to meet twice monthly at FUMC on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4:30. We gather with a cup of tea to share experiences, exchange information, and to care for and encourage each other. Our meeting dates in January are: January 6th and 20th. This group is open to the FUMC fellowship.

The Madrigal Singers present a celebration of Christmas in song and word "There is no rose of such virtue" directed by John Sichel on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at 4 PM in our Sanctuary; $15 general admission, $10 students and seniors.

Calling all Scrapbookers!! Our next crop will be held on Saturday, January 12 from 9am to1pm in the Social Hall. We plan to meet monthly on the second Saturday. Each month, Sarah Ashworth will present a topic and be available to help those new to scrapbooking. January's topic is: "Downloading, Editing, and Printing Photos." Please bring your laptop and camera for personal assistance as well as your scrapbooking supplies. Experienced scrapbookers are encouraged to join us. Our next time to host Free Meals will be January 14, 2013. We prepare meals the 2nd Monday of each month September thru June. Although we have a faithful crew, we welcome anyone who would like to come and join us! If you are interested, talk to Dick or Margaret Campbell.

Dr. Martin Luther King Interfaith Service. Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1 PM at First Congregational Church, 125 Elmer Street, Westfield. Join the group as they MARCH from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument (located between Town Bank and the Traffic Circle) to the church before the Service. Gather at the Monument at 12:15 p.m.

Its time for our Fellowship Room to get a facelift. If you love to decorate, get excited when you hear the word Pantone, and most of all, would like to make the Fellowship Room a more welcoming place, please give your name to Stina Nanavati ASAP!( We will have lunch and brainstorm ideas in early January.

The core committee for Vacation Bible School is looking for volunteers who want to help develop a new and exciting mission-based vacation bible school experience for our congregation. If you have ideas to suggest and want to help in developing the program that we will pilot this summer, then please contact Marcee Rogers, Children's Program coordinator ( Our first meeting will be in January. FUMC members are invited to attend Wesley Hall School for Early Childhood's presentation of Steve the Magicians's circus-themed show on January 25 at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary (snow date, February 1). Appropriate for families with young children.To learn more about Steve the Magician, visit, Tickets are $4 per person. Registration forms are available in the FUMC office.

Join us for a SQUARE DANCE on Saturday, January 26, 2013, 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Bring the entire family out for an evening of fun & fellowship! (No experience needed!) No admission charge, but a free will offering will be accepted at the door. We will have a live caller - FUMC’s own Dale Flowers! Children ages 4 and up are welcome. Each child age 4 thru 8 should bring a grown up to dance with.

Financial Peace University — Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University is coming to FUMC Westfield! What is Financial Peace University? We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University (FPU) is that plan! It teaches God's ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. The program will start on January 8, 2013 at 7 PM in the Fellowship Room and will continue for nine consecutive Tuesdays ending on March 5, 2013.
