NEW ALTAR FLOWER CHART is up! The 2013 Flower Chart is posted on the wall outside the church office. You are invited to sponsor flower arrangements for our worship services each Sunday morning. Floral arrangements cost $40 each week to sponsor. Please sign up, then take an envelope for your payment and to indicate what reading you’d like to appear in the bulletin. Thank you for providing these beautiful tributes for our Sunday services.

THE FAMILY CAREGIVER'S GROUP continues to meet twice monthly at FUMC on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30. We gather with a cup of tea to share experiences, exchange information and to care for and encourage each other. Meeting dates in February are the 3rd and the 17th and in March the 3rd and the 24th. If you have been considering attending a meeting to experience the kind of support it offers, know that you are most welcome. The group is small and stable and will be interested in hearing about your experience of caregiving. Facilitators are Sue Bottorff and Su Illif.

THE BOOK GROUP will meet TONIGHT from 7-8:30 PM in the Fellowship Room. The book for discussion is "Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier. Joann Huber will be the discussion facilitator. All are invited to join us.

DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING Interfaith Service. Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1 PM at First Congregational Church, 125 Elmer Street, Westfield. Join the group as they MARCH from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument (located between Town Bank and the Traffic Circle) to the church before the Service. Gather at the Monument at 12:15 p.m.

IT'S TIME FOR our Fellowship Room to get a facelift. If you love to decorate, get excited when you hear the word Pantone, and most of all, would like to make the Fellowship Room a more welcoming place, please give your name to Stina Nanavati ASAP!( We will have lunch and brainstorm ideas in early January.

THE CORE COMMITTEEfor Vacation Bible School is looking for volunteers who want to help develop a new and exciting mission-based vacation bible school experience for our congregation. If you have ideas to suggest and want to help in developing the program that we will pilot this summer, then please contact Marcee Rogers, Children's Program coordinator ( Our first meeting will be in January. FUMC MEMBERS are invited to attend Wesley Hall School for Early Childhood's presentation of Steve the Magician’s circus-themed show on January 25 at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary (snow date, February 1). Appropriate for families with young children.To learn more about Steve the Magician, visit, Tickets are $4 per person. Registration forms are available in the FUMC office.

Join us for a SQUARE DANCE on Saturday, January 26, 2013, 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Bring the entire family out for an evening of fun & fellowship! (No experience needed!) No admission charge, but a free will offering will be accepted at the door. We will have a live caller — FUMC’s own Dale Flowers! Children ages 4 and up are welcome. Each child age 4 thru 8 should bring a grown-up to dance with.

Adult Continuing Education

Stay tuned to learn more about this year’s Lenten study, scheduled to begin on Sunday, February 17th! The Lenten study will be offered on Sunday mornings at 9:00 – 9:50 AM. If there is sufficient interest, the study will be offered at an additional time during the week.

Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University began on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 and will continue for nine consecutive Tuesdays ending on March 5, 2013. Sessions begin at 7 PM in the Fellowship Room. Contact Brent Beene with questions.
