New Offering envelopes. Please pick up your offering envelopes for 2014 in the hallway outside the church office.

Altar Flowers. The 2014 Flower Chart is posted on the wall outside the church office. You are invited to sponsor flower arrangements ($40 per week) for our worship services each Sunday morning. Please sign up, then take an envelope for your payment and to indicate what reading you’d like to appear in the bulletin. Thank you for providing these beautiful tributes for our services.

Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry. Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Last Call! Come with us to see "Moses" at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Lunch and transportation will be part of the package event. Superbowl Sub Sale. The Senior High youth are again attending RISE this summer and are hosting a Superbowl Sub Sale to raise funds for their mission work.We will have Turkey, Roast Beef and Italian subs available for $10 each for a 10" sub.Please pre-order your subs by signing up on the sheets posted in the Fellowship Room, or by contacting Kevin Dresely at ddresely@comcast.net. Subs will be made fresh and available for pickup on Superbowl Sunday, February 2nd.Don’t delay, and thanks for your continued support of this amazing program.

The Book Group will next meet TONIGHT from 7-8:30 PM in the Fellowship Room. The book for discussion is "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall. Gloria Brodersen will facilitate. All are invited to join us. Looking ahead to February: We will be discussing "The Light Between Oceans" by M. L. Stedman.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Service will take place on January 20, 2014 at Temple Emanu-El, 756 East Broad Street, Westfield at 1 PM. You are invited to meet at 12 noon at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monument to march to the synagogue.

FUMC members are invited to attend Wesley Hall School for Early Childhood's presentation of Presley and Melody Interactive Concerts on January 24 at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary (snow date, January 31). Join us for a Square Dance on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 PM in the Social Hall. NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Bring the entire family out for an evening of fun & fellowship! No admission charge, but a free will offering will be accepted at the door. We will have a live caller—FUMC’s own Dale Flowers! Children ages 4 and up are welcome. Each child age 4-8 should bring a grown-up to dance with.

The Family Caregiver's Group continues to meet twice monthly at FUMC on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30. We gather to share experiences, exchange information and to care for and encourage each other. Upcoming meeting dates: January 26, February 9, March 2 &16. Facilitator is Sue Bottorff.

Monthly Men’s Breakfast— All men are invited to gather at the Westfield Diner at 8 AM on the first Saturday of every month for a time of fellowship. (Our next Saturday is February 1, 2014) Contact Kevin Dresely at ddresely@comcast.net for more information. No reservations required!

Bible 101

Do you have questions about the Bible?What is in the different parts of the Bible? Why is it important to read and study the Bible? This class is designed for persons who want to learn more about the Bible.The series will begin with basic information (who, what, when, where, why) and provide an understanding of why the Bible was important to people centuries ago, and why it is important to us today.

Sessions will be held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM and at 11:30 AM in room 105.Regular childcare will be available for the 9:00 AM class. Childcare will be provided for the 11:30 AM by advance reservation. Contact Su Iliff (siliff31@gmail.com) with questions or childcare requests.

Participants should bring a Bible, their curiosity, and their questions.

Coming in February. . .

"Words We Live By" For 4 Sundays, beginning February 9th, an Adult Class, offered at 9:00 and 11:30 AM in room 105, and led by Dan Bottorff and Chuck Sheffield, will explore meaningful metaphors of our faith. These are the metaphors which communicate to us who God is and what God is doing in our lives.We’ll also identify the metaphors that may be stumbling blocks for some people in their understanding of themselves and God. are invited to consider sharing in this conversation of metaphors that bring us to life.

"Philippians: The Joy of Serving Christ" A thought-provoking 4-week Bible study entitled Philippians: The Joy of Serving Christbegin Sunday, February 9 in Room 208 at 9AM and will be led by Joann Huber. ’s letter to the Philippians is a treasure chest of spiritual insights and encouragement on how to rejoice in the Lord regardless of circumstances, and how to have awith Christ in a world weighed down by daily difficulties. discussions should ensue as we explore these topics.
