Day at the Westfield Memorial Pool—TODAY

Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry. Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Calling all instrumentalists! We are forming an ensemble to play at the outdoor worship service on Sunday, September 8. All ages and skill-levels are invited to join. We will have a couple rehearsals prior to performing at the service. To be a part of the ensemble or for more information, please contact Sarah Ashworth at sarahashworth14@gmail.com

Monday Evening Bible Study in August. Rev. Iliff will offer a Monday evening Bible study on the lectionary passage(s) for the following Sunday. Please join us August 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Room.

Craft/Social Group, Wednesdays in August. Please join us in the Fellowship Room on Wednesdays in August from 1—3 PM. Bring your knitting, sewing and crafts or just join us for social time! We also have some fun projects that you can work on. Hope to see you whenever you can make it!

Enjoy Summer Jazz from FUMC’s front lawn! Relax and enjoy the music of the Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival each Tuesday in July and August from 7-9 PM. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and your picnic dinner. Playing August 6th is Groove Apparatus (grooveapparatus.com).

Ready for an Outdoor Adventure? Meet us at the church at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 10 to go hiking at the Delaware Water Gap. We are also going canoeing! Meet at the Cranford Canoe Club, 250 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, on Saturday, August 17 at 10 a.m. Prices are $25-$35 per canoe or kayak for 2 hours. Wanted by the UMW. The Elisabeth Circle wants your "attic treasures" - forgotten or just no longer wanted or needed, new and used items like paintings, old Barbies, Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, furniture, antique dishes, collectables, etc. We have established an e-bay account and will be listing your donated treasures as a fund raising event for the Church.  If you have items to donate to either the e-bay fund raising project or for the upcoming yard sale please contact Janet at jmpoland@yahoo.com. We can arrange pick up and/or storage for items that you would like to donate.

The Family Caregiver's Group continues to meet twice monthly at FUMC on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30. We gather to share experiences, exchange information and to care for and encourage each other. Upcoming meeting dates: August 4 and 18. Facilitator is Sue Bottorff.

This year’s United Methodist Homes’ Walk for All Ages takes place on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM beginning at Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove, NJ. The walk benefits the Fellowship Fund which helps The Homes to live up to its commitment that no resident is ever asked to leave because of exhausted financial resources. FUMC members, Mary-Lou Jackson and Joyce Nelson are walking this year. Please see them if you are interested in joining the walk or if you’d like to be a sponsor.

Planning for next year is upon us! the Fellowship Room are idea charts for various congregational and small group activities. you want to plant a seed and watch it grow? your idea up and run with it or sign on to help with a listed activity which inspires you. dates and confirmation of activities will take place in late August in order to prepare an Activity Calendar for the next cycle.
