Non-perishable food donations are needed for the Westfield Food Pantry. Place your items in the bin in the Lobby.

Calling all instrumentalists! We are forming an ensemble to play at the outdoor worship service on Sunday, September 8. All ages and skill-levels are invited to join. We will have a couple rehearsals prior to performing at the service. To be a part of the ensemble or for more information, please contact Sarah Ashworth at sarahashworth14@gmail.com

Monday Evening Bible Study in August. Rev. Iliff will offer a Monday evening Bible study on the lectionary passage(s) for the following Sunday. Please join us August 12, 19 and 26 at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Room.

Support the work of the Sandy Relief Mission Teams by helping to make and serve meals as part of our Midweek Day of Mission Trip (August 21).We will travel to the host site in Highlands, NJ to deliver the donations that we have been collecting each week and prepare a meal for the Work Crews who are staying at that host site. Craft/Social Group, Wednesdays in August and extended thru September! Please join us in the Fellowship Room on Wednesdays in August and September from 1—3 PM. Bring your knitting, sewing and crafts or just join us for social time! We also have some fun projects that you can work on. Hope to see you whenever you can make it!

Enjoy Summer Jazz from FUMC’s front lawn! Relax and enjoy the music of the Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival each Tuesday in July and August from 7-9 PM. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and your picnic dinner. Playing August 13th is The Murphtet (gregmurphyjazz.com).

Join us on Sunday August 25 for scavenger hunt fun followed by ice cream in downtown Westfield.  Come on your own or bring your friends and family.  We will create teams and there will be fun prizes.  Please bring an item to donate to the food pantry along with money for your ice cream.  For more information, to help with the planning or to RSVP, contact Marcee Rogers (mmrogers93@gmail.com)

Wanted by the UMW. The Elisabeth Circle wants your "attic treasures" - forgotten or just no longer wanted or needed, new and used items like paintings, old Barbies, Hot Wheels, Beanie Babies, furniture, antique dishes, collectables, etc. We have established an e-bay account and will be listing your donated treasures as a fund raising event for the Church.you have items to donate to either the e-bay fundraising project or for the upcoming yard sale please contact Janet at jmpoland@yahoo.com. We can arrange pick up and/or storage for items that you would like to donate.

The Family Caregiver's Group continues to meet twice monthly at FUMC on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30. We gather to share experiences, exchange information and to care for and encourage each other. Upcoming meeting dates: August 18. Facilitator is Sue Bottorff.

This year’s United Methodist Homes’ Walk for All Ages takes place on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM beginning at Francis Asbury Manor in Ocean Grove, NJ. The walk benefits the Fellowship Fund which helps The Homes to live up to its commitment that no resident is ever asked to leave because of exhausted financial resources. FUMC members, Mary-Lou Jackson and Joyce Nelson are walking this year. Please see them if you are interested in joining the walk or if you’d like to be a sponsor.

Planning for next year is upon us! the Fellowship Room are idea charts for various congregational and small group activities. you want to plant a seed and watch it grow? your idea up and run with it or sign on to help with a listed activity which inspires you. dates and confirmation of activities will take place in late August in order to prepare an Activity Calendar for the next cycle.

Church Office hours during vacation: Linda Newingham will be covering the Church Office from 9 AM—12 noon, Monday—Thursday the weeks of August 19 and August 26 when Susan Granski is on vacation.
