Processional Candle Bearers Training. TODAY following worship at 11:15-12:15 there will a training for youth (grades 5 and up) to learn the Processional Candle Bearer job led by Jack Panosh.  Meet outside the Music Library (2nd floor). This training is open to any of our youth who would like to support worship by taking on this job for various holiday worship services throughout the year.  The task involves carrying one of two processional candles at the beginning and end of worship to accompany the processional cross.

New Member Class: Are you interested in exploring membership at FUMC Westfield, or, if already a member, in brushing up on your Methodism? If so, you are invited to join the upcoming class that will be lead by Rev. Mertz. We will meet together Sunday, April 13 at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Room. This class is open to anyone—member and non-member. If you think you might be interested in participating, it would help us prepare if you would let Susan know at either 908-233-4211, email: or speak to Rev. Mertz. But even if you cannot respond ahead of time or are not sure if you want to join right now, you are still most welcome to participate. If you need child care, please let us know ahead of time so we can make arrangements.

Altar Flowers. The 2014 Flower Chart is posted on the wall outside the church office—there are still 18 weeks available. You are invited to sponsor flower arrangements ($40 per week) for our worship services each Sunday morning. Please sign up, then take an envelope for your payment and to indicate what reading you’d like to appear in the bulletin. Thank you for providing these beautiful tributes for our services.

Help support our Lenten youth mission project! – The Jr. and Sr. High youth will be selling tile mosaic crosses during lent for $10- each. The proceeds will benefit the Westfield Food Pantry and the Plainfield Free Meals program. They will be approximately 3 X 6 inches standing on a small base. Family Caregivers Group. A support group for persons who provide ongoing care for an ill, elderly or disabled family member continues to meet at FUMC about twice each month from 3:00 to 4:30 on Sunday afternoons. coming dates can be found in the weekly bulletin. support, encouragement, and caring as well as practical information areto and by those present.. group is professionally led. Our next time to host Free Meals will be Monday, April 14, 2014. If you are interested, talk to Dick or Margaret Campbell.

The Noontimers will meet on Friday, April 18, from 12 –2 PM in the Fellowship Room. Our presenter will be physical therapist, Eleanor Campbell with the program "Babies and Tummy Time." Bring a sandwich and we provide coffee and tea and ice water. April hosts are Betty Stewart and Doris Eisele.

20th All-Church Treasure Hunt.On, May 10th from 3– 7pm we will be having a Treasure Hunt. This year we will include both family teams and adult teams so all are invited to participate. This is an opportunity to explore all of the nooks and crannies in the church while getting to know your fellow church members. We will have a chili dinner to conclude the event.up in the Fellowship Room or outside of the Church office and let us know if you want to be part of a Family Team or an all-Adult team as well as your choice to bring either an appetizer or dessert to share.

Adult Education Update –FORGIVENESS.

The Lenten study, Forgiveness: A Lenten Study by Marjorie Thompson, will continue on Sunday mornings ending April 13th.Everyone is invited to participate at either of two gathering times: 9:00 – 9:50 AM or 11:30 – 12:30 in Room 105.Any suggestions for future class topics can be shared with Bob Anderson, Dan Bottorff, Joann Huber, or Su Iliff.
